Today PVLD launched the Learning 2.0 Challenge - details can be found at www.pvldlearning.blogspot.com or by downloading the flyer at Download StaffLearningFlyer.pdf
PVLD employees (full and part-time) are eligible to particpate in this exciting project designed to help us:
Explore some of the new technologies that are reshaping how people use the Internet to access information and interact with one another.
Think about how these new technologies could be used to support PVLD's Vision of "...being an innovative leader and community partner in providing outstanding library services that connect people, information, and ideas."
Reward staff who take the initiative to complete the self-discovery exercise
And perhaps most importantly - HAVE FUN!
This photo is from today's Learning 2.0 Kick-Off Party at the Annex - so you can see we mean it when we say have fun!
While Trustees, volunteers, and library users are not eligible for prizes you are encouraged to try some or all of the tasks. If you do I'd love to get your thoughts on what you discover and ways we can use these technologies to enhance our services! Just submit a comment on this blog!
We did not originate this idea - thanks for that go to the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenberg County (http://plcmcl2-about.blogspot.com/) but we are excited to be among a handful of libraries across the country who have followed in PLCMC's footsteps.
Congrats on kicking off your challenge! It looks like the party was a lot of fun.
